KNBS Census 2019
The campaign name was a call to action that was to endear Kenyans to be part of the 2019 Kenya Population & Housing Census.
After meeting with the team, is was key that the main aim for the campaign was twofold. Firstly they needed to increase census awareness and secondly, to provide as much information as possible to the public on what would happen on the day.
- Ensuring the census is inclusive embedded in simplified communication.
- The key objective of a census being planning for a better future, it was important for the campaign to be received as ‘we are in this together.
Strategy & Solution
Rather than KNBS/GOK sounding instructional, the tone was made to be participatory and was to evoke a sense of patriotism in being part of the count.
The direction was simple and straightforward. It followed the principles of 5 W’s & H. Who? Why? What? When? Where? How?

In order to deliver the best ideas for KNBS the creative process was iterative (developing, testing and refining a number of times). Together with Apex Porter Noveli we changed perceptions with cohesive thinking.
