The Shift: Insights by The Digital Monkey

Objectives

  1. Shift TDM’s positioning from “agency on the panel” to “the agency that understands where things are going.”
    This is a perception objective. Right now, TDM is one name among many on a supplier list. The newsletter’s job is to change what that name means in the recipient’s head. When they see TDM, they should associate it with expertise and foresight, not just availability. You measure this qualitatively;
    Are contacts referencing the content in conversations?
    Are you getting replies to issues?
    Are prospects describing TDM differently in early meetings than they did before?
  1. Stay visible to the right people between briefs.
    This is a recall objective. The average time between when a contact joins a panel and when a relevant brief actually lands could be months (3-12 in our experience).
    The newsletter’s job is to make sure TDM is the name that comes to mind when that brief is being written, not the name they have to look up on a spreadsheet. You measure this by;
    Open rates and consistency of readership over time, not whether one issue performs well, but whether the same people are opening issue after issue.
  1. Create the conditions for warmer commercial conversations.
    This is a pipeline objective, but it’s indirect. The newsletter doesn’t sell. It makes selling easier. When TDM reaches out about an opportunity, or when a contact receives a pitch from TDM, the response should be different because they’ve been reading the content. You measure this by;
    Tracking whether contacts who receive the newsletter convert at a higher rate or respond faster than contacts who don’t
    Whether inbound enquiries increase over time.
    The three objectives in one sentence:
    “Make TDM the agency that the right people already respect and remember when the next brief lands.”
